CROWDED ELEVATOR
Crowded Elevator is New Zealand's newest streetwear label - tapping in to the glow-stick graphics of nu-rave and 80s punk styling that is so must-have cool right now. Launched in June of 2007 by founding father Carl Thompson, the first run of the label's Summer 07 collection of 11 fresh, funky, eclectic tees for men perfectly suited a market looking for international styling at a reasonable price, and sold out almost immediately.
September 07 saw the release of the limited edition Creative Collection, with Kiwi-influenced prints designed by some of New Zealand's hottest artists sold through stores of established fashion label WORLD - followed quickly by placement with an Australian sales agent. Delivering on such early promise, the label has expanded into long sleeved tees, military influenced hoodies and a casual top for women for Winter 08. Graphics feature catchy slogans such as 'This is not Miami', kitsch animal prints, retro imagery and the kitsch 'Can Opener Vs Robot' print in neon bright colours.
